Foundations for Building your Lifelong Mindfulness Practice
8 week course, 2 hours per week. This course is perfect if you are new to mindfulness and are wishing to establish a regular practice in your own life. It is also suitable if you already have an established practice but wish to further develop and embed your learning. Through a combination of psychoeducation, guided meditations, group discussion and home practice you will learn the fundamental principles of mindfulness and develop valuable skills and techniques to help you benefit well beyond the course. In summary, this course will support you to:
Come out of autopilot and to live more in the now
Explore the mind/ body connection to help you become more receptive to your bodies messages of stress and fatigue
Better understand the link between thoughts and feelings
Become less reactive and calmer in everyday life
Better tolerate difficult feelings rather than resorting to unhelpful coping strategies
Reduce stress and build resilience
Be more compassionate towards yourself and others
